Metadata: 2005, EMU, Greater Gabbard, Geophysical Survey
Abstract:
Emu Ltd were commissioned by Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Ltd to undertake at geophysical survey over the proposed offshore Greater Gabbard windfarm site. The export cable route and a landfall survey area extending approximately 3km offshore was also surveyed. Two additional transect lines across the Inner Gabbard bank were also surveyed. The survey was implemented to determine seabed topography and morphology, to identify the nature of the seabed sediments, to identify the thickeness of superficial sediments to London Clay and to identify the location, extent and nature of any impediments to the laying or burial of the cable. The survey was carried out between 26th May and 9th June 2005 and involved the use of swath bathymetric surveying combined with sidescan sona, seismic sub bottom profiling and magnetometer survey techniques. Preliminary analysis of the data identifies vast expanses of flat featureless seabed with areas of sandwaves and mega ripples also identified. A known wreck site was also identified from the magnetometer survey.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 39477 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2005, EMU, Greater Gabbard, Geophysical Survey |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Geophysical Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | f936d9c9-b8a2-41e2-a3e0-fc4f8ee0d1d5 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-423 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2005-05-26 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2005-06-08 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | unknown |
