Samples were collected from two subtidal sandbanks in the North Sea, Broken Bank and Swarte Bank, in April 2006. Data also includes total harpacticoid copepod counts per sample. Data on the sediment granulometry are also available from all stations (except BB-J) in the csv file "BB_SB_abiotic_factors_2006". Four replicate day grabs were collected at five stations along the crest of each sandbank (A, B, X, C, D) and at single sites either side of the sandbanks (F, I). Additional, non-replicated day grabs were collected at four other stations located on the deeper surrounding seabed of each sandbank (E, G, H, J). From each day grab, two sub-samples were collected with a perspex corer (3.6 cm diameter, 10 cm2 surface area) to a depth of 5 cm, one for the analysis of particle size and one for the study of meiofaunal nematodes. All faunal samples were processed. Identification keys used to identify nematodes were Platt & Warwick (1983, 1988), Warwick et al. (1998). MEDIN 3.1.1
