  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The dataset comprises 21 hydrographic data profiles, collected by a conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensor package, from the North Sea and North East Atlantic Ocean (limit 40W) areas including specific locations: the north western North Sea; and to the north of Scotland Orkney Shetland area of the North Sea 58-62N 4W-2E. Hydrographic data was obtained for comparison with the horizontal and vertical distribution of herring during June and July of 2003. A complete list of all data parameters are described by the SeaDataNet Parameter Discovery Vocabulary (PDV) keywords assigned in this metadata record. The data were collected by the Fisheries Research Services Aberdeen Marine Laboratory.</dc:description>
