  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This dataset comprises hydrographic data profiles, collected by a conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensor package, during April - May 1981. It incorporates a CTD grid survey of the Irish Sea. The data were collected by the University of Wales, Bangor School of Ocean Sciences as part of a survey cruise contributing to research directed toward understanding how the physics of the Irish Sea and surrounding regions (Celtic Sea, St, George's Channel, North Channel and Clyde Sea) determine biogeochemical processes and sediment transport.</dc:description>
