<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">In 2015 Skomer Marine Nature Reserve changed designation to Skomer Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ). The purpose of this data capture was to monitor the red sea fingers Alcyonium glomeratum colony area and to look for damage and disease. Alcyonium glomeratum (red sea fingers) is a Lusitanian species near to its northern limit of distribution. Colonies are long-lived and possible indicators of climate change. Several colonies have been monitored since 1982. Some colonies are very stable over time and others are variable.</dc:description>
