  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Data derived from the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) intertidal Phase 1 mapping survey have been used to evaluate the relative value of each survey site according to the JNCC intertidal Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) guidelines. The purpose of this data capture was to make recommendations and objectively evaluate the nature conservation value of stretches of the intertidal zone throughout Wales, in order to create new designations for SSSI and provide evidence and identify additional of intertidal features of interest to identify features to existing SSSIs. This in turn helps to develop Site Management Statements and Management Plans for existing SSSI and Special Areas of Conservation (SACs).</dc:description>
