  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This is a static spatial dataset. The dataset contains details on access points used during the phase 1 intertidal survey, including site ID, OS grid references, access type, status e.g. public/private, contact details of landowners and notes. Phase 1 intertidal surveys were undertaken to provide an assessment of sites as possible Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI's) and as a basis for developing sensitivity mapping. They are also used in the production and evaluation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA's) and as an integrated information resource for local authorities' structure and development plans on the coast and for the consideration of planning applications. This particular dataset provides information on access points used by the surveyors to access the various sites across Wales.</dc:description>
