<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Maritime cliff and slopes is a priority habitat within the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. Selected maritime sites on the Llyn Peninsula were surveyed, mapped and evaluated in September/October 2000 and the range of National Vegetation Classification (NVC) vegetation types present characterized. A number of sections of the UK coastline have been nominated as 'Vegetated Sea Cliffs of the Atlantic and Baltic Coasts' candidate Special Areas of Conservation under the EC Habitats Directive. This survey was undertaken as part of the former Countryside Council for Wales (CCWs) commitment to undertake research and survey in order to increase knowledge of the extent and quality of this resource. Selected maritime sites on the Llyn Peninsula: - Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) - Porth Dinllaen (Borth Wen to Penrhyn Nefyn) - Porth Nefyn (Penrhyn Nefyn to Penrhyn Bodeilias) - Porth Pistyll (Penrhyn Bodeilias to the lower slopes of Carreg y Llam)</dc:description>
