  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">In 2015 Skomer Marine Nature Reserve changed designation to Skomer Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ). Skomer Marine Nature Reserve (MNR) was designated in 1990. Cup corals are slow growing filter feeders, which are susceptible to changes in water quality and planktonic food supply. Scarlet and gold star-coral, Balanophyllia regia, is a Lusitanian species and Skomer MNR is close to the northern edge of its range in the UK. The purpose of this data capture was to monitor Scarlet and Gold cup coral.</dc:description>
