<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Between October 2001 and June 2002, the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) contracted Sea-Scope to source and collate any Welsh marine biological data which were not in CCW's possession. The main aim of the Project was to collate extant data, enabling them to be accessible to CCW data management systems and linking to other data collation projects nationally. Priority was to be given to data acquired from Special Areas of Conservation (SACs), particularly those relating to SAC moderation features. A higher priority was to be given to sourcing datasets from areas which had limited representation on the MNCR database, in terms of data already held. Also, datasets collected before 1980, with restricted phyla, or with suspected inaccuracies in species identification were to be given a lower priority.</dc:description>
