<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">There were two purposes for this data capture. Firstly, to establish the reference condition from which to establish conservation objectives; and to be able to take account of natural changes in the appropriate management of the features of the Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Secondly, to repeat survey of sites surveyed in 2005 to further test and develop monitoring methodology and collect monitoring data. Menai Strait and Conwy Bay SAC is designated for five Annex 1 habitats; Sandbanks which are slightly covered by sea water all the time, Mudflats and sandflats not covered by seawater at low tide, reefs, large shallow inlets and bays; and submerged or partially submerged sea caves. Intertidal mudflats and sandflats in this location include a variety of biotopes, many of which are present on the large sediment flat of Traeth Lafan. Intertidal reefs include a large variety of biotopes, with tide-swept bedrock, boulder and cobble habitats particularly well represented. This dataset includes the results of an intertidal monitoring survey carried out on the tide-swept boulder habitat just south of Britannia Bridge during September 2007.</dc:description>
