<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Cosheston Pill provides an important sanctuary for a number of wildfowl and wader species including redshanks, curlew and shelduck. Previous studies had shown that in Cosheston Pill shelduck appeared to frequent certain areas of the Pill preferentially- this dataset contains the results of an intertidal sediment survey designed to investigate this preference further. The purpose of data capture was to assess whether or not shelduck feeding area preference in Cosheston Pill were related to variation in the distribution of their prey species and therefore related to spatial variations in the characteristics of the sediments.</dc:description>
