<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The Habitats Directive establishes that the management of Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) should aim to achieve the favourable conservation status of habitat and species features listed within its Annex I and Annex II. For SACs in Wales, the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) is therefore required to report on a regular basis on whether features are in favourable conservation status. The purpose of this data capture was to conduct Intertidal Special Area of Conservation monitoring. Transect survey of sediment flats in Camarthen Bay and Estuaries SAC in June 2007. In Carmarthen Bay and Estuaries SAC the relevant Annex I intertidal habitat features are Large shallow inlets and bays, estuaries and Mudflats and sandflats not covered by sea water at low tide. Rockpools, overhangs and caves have also been identified as important elements of the large shallow inlets and bays feature and of Sites of Special Scientific Interest and metadata for these datasets are documented elsewhere.</dc:description>
