<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This report summarises the third stage of a modelling research study undertaken by Bangor University, investigating the hydrodynamic and morphodynamic response of representative Welsh estuaries (which include both past and potential future changes to the estuaries, as well as their present form) to a range of mean and extreme climatic conditions. In particular, coastal flood risk and potential for erosion and accretion has been assessed through the medium of high resolution computational models. The Mawddach estuary lies within the Snowdonia National Park, north Wales, and its landscape and environment represents one of the key natural assets which Wales possesses. The purpose of this data capture was to investigate the response of the estuary to future tidal and atmospheric changes. The model has also been used to investigate the response of the estuarine dynamics to potential management strategies such as embankment re-alignment and re-location.</dc:description>
