<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Several sites around Wales have been highlighted as being of interest for their marine seaweeds, either as species rich sites or for supporting rare, scarce or Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) species. Many of these sites were designated in 2007 as provisional Important Plant Areas for Algae and all the sites are situated within marine Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) or Sites of Special Scientific Importance (SSSIs). This study was designed to provide an inventory of species at selected sites, which were highlighted as the result of previous surveys, and also to recommend methodologies for future monitoring.</dc:description>
