The purpose it to gain an up to date understanding of the distribution of marine non-native species to inform their spread and inform casework advice. The data used to build this GIS layer comes from existing relevant locations where data is held and has been amalgamated into one location in ESRI format. It contains data from the 1930s up until 2023. No new surveys were carried out for this dataset.</dc:description>
