<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The Habitats Directive requires the management of Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) to achieve favourable conservation status for habitats and species listed in Annex I and Annex II. Under Regulation 9a of the Habitats Regulations (formerly Article 17), the conservation status of these features must be reported every six years. In Wales, Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is responsible for this reporting.

Sabellaria alveolata (honeycomb reef worm) forms biogenic reef structures on rocky substrates in intertidal and shallow subtidal marine and estuarine environments. Dense aggregations create reef formations that are important habitat features within SACs.

This dataset provides information on the extent and condition of Sabellaria alveolata reef at surveyed locations.</dc:description>
