<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The Coastal Surveillance Unit (CSU) monitoring programme is comprised of 10 databases, including those for abundance records for around 1000 coastal species. The purpose of the monitoring (funded by Shell UK Ltd.) was to detect any changes that might have occurred as a result of a Shell oil pipeline that runs from a terminal at sea off Amlwch across Anglesey to the mainland. Monitoring was carried out over 10 years from 1973 - 1983, with a resurvey in 1993.</dc:description>
