  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This survey was carried out from 27th Jun to 24th July 1996 in the Irish Sea 
and North Channel. As part of the main aims of the survey, a small number of 
plankton tows were carried out in the western Irish Sea. Plankton samples were 
collected at each site on the survey grid and analysed for larvae of 
*Nephrops norvegicus*. This data consists of the numbers of *Nephrops* 
larvae, along with associated positional data and volumes filtered.</dc:description>
