  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the South Western Beam Trawl 
Survey, Qtr 1 (FSS: Q1SWBEAM);

Annual research vessel surveys in the Western English Channel using 4m beam 
trawls in support of EU data regulations and as part of an ICES funded 
research program. Randomly selected survey position design. In 2012 the survey 
coverage was extended to cover the Celtic Sea using both the 4m beam trawl and 
the GOV trawl. In 2013 the survey returned to using the 4m beam trawl only. 
Additional aims include collection of benthic, water temperature and salinity 
and acoustic data.

Survey took place between 16/03/2009 and 05/04/2009 on CEFAS Endeavour

- High definition drop camera frame
- Nioz corer standard deployment 5mm Grid
- No Blinder Port deployed Beam Trawl 4m steel commericial with extended 
 codend
- SPI camera starboard A Frame
- Starboard deployed Beam Trawl 4m steel commericial with extended codend
- Vertical Profiler CTD Type 8770

Survey operations were undertaken on 507 stations

276 different species were caught on this survey</dc:description>
