<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">8 skippers recorded catches from 2022 to 2024 (landings and discards) of
Nephrops (N. norvegicus), cod (G. morhua), haddock (M. aeglefinus), whiting
(M. melangus) and mixture of species in the North Sea Farne Deeps fishery
which is located off the English northeast coast in ICES subarea 4.b. The aim
was for skippers to collect data using their standard net and their
experimental net in order to compare the efficiency of the net to reduce
discards of whitefish. These experimental gear included testing coverless
trawl, a trawl with additional square mesh panels (SMP) escape sections in the
top of the trawl, and a separator trawl with dual cod end.</dc:description>
