Household_solid_waste_audit_Belize_data.csv reports solid waste abundance and composition data from households expressed in number of items, weight or volume; and Commercial_solid_waste_audit_Belize_data.csv reports solid waste abundance and composition data from commercial activities. Household_solid_waste_audit_Belize_metadata.csv reports the results of interviews done when solid waste samples were collected to gather information about household occupants social status and behaviour, including the fate of solid waste not collected through the official waste management service. Commercial_solid_waste_audit_Belize_metadata.csv reports information about number of employees, type of business and waste collection and disposal collected through interviews. Household waste audits were conducted in eight communities between May and June 2019 in Belize (Belmopan, Mahogany Heights, Dangriga, Corozal, Belize City, Orange Walk, Bullet Tree Falls in Cayo, and Toledo rural). Commercial activities were also audited in five locations (Belmopan, Belize City, Corozal, Dangriga and Punta Gorda). A total of 268 households and 64 commercial activities were audited. Also, 12 samples were collected in Belize City to analyse the litter swiped from streets by city council contractors.
