<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">DESKTOP STUDY: This report establishes the range and extent of existing baseline data regarding food availability for bird populations utilising the mudflats and saltmarshes of the Teesmouth and Cleveland Coast SPA, through identification of sources of raw data for prey abundance and bird numbers. Summaries and examples of the currently available data are presented along with discussion of the historic and current situation in terms of the condition of the SPA. The report identifies gaps in the available information that need to be addressed by further work and the steps to be taken in the formulation of a baseline for the SPA.</dc:description>
