<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This collection comprises images and vector data, from a descriptive buildings record (level 2) at Hawthorn Leslie Shipyard, Ellison Street, Hebburn. In August 2022 Archaeological Research Services Ltd was commissioned by Hebburn Riverside Development Ltd to undertake a programme of historic building recording works at the former Hawthorn Leslie Shipyard. Fieldwork was carried out in November 2022. The remains which survive on site, at the time of this survey, are indicative of shipbuilding and repair activity at a time when Tyneside's industries were at the forefront of many technologies.</dc:description>
