  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The main aim of this study was to produce a map of biotopes (or catergories of biotopes) for the area of North Northumberland. Information from previous surveys has been incorporated into the mapping process. A conservations assessment has been made of marine biotopes within the survey area. The study ends with options for appropriate management techniques discussed in the accompanying Coastal Zone Management (CZM) study and an evaluation of the usefulness of biotope mapping to the preparation of CZM plans.</dc:description>
