<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Survey run by Ambios Environmental Consultants Ltd. for Kerr-McGee Oil (UK) plc. All these records relate to "Smith (1995) - Lyme Bay Environmental Study Volume 7. Intertidal benthic ecology: Cobble and boulder shores" A copy of the report is held at Dorset Environmental Records Centre.
This report forms part of the 'Lyme Bay Environmental Study' series. This volume reports on the intertidal benthic ecology of cobble and boulder shores. Five survey sites were chosen, from Charmouth in the west to Fortuneswell, Portland, in the east. Site photos are reproduced in the report. The shore was surveyed close to the time of low water (spring tides) for 10 minutes from just above the high water mark to the low water mark. Boulders on a strip approximately 5m wide were turned over, invertebrates recorded and boulders replaced. Specimens were identified to species level in the field wherever practicable. Fieldwork took place on 25-26th July 1994 during a period of spring tides.</dc:description>
