<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Palinurus (vulgaris) elaphas records from a survey of the fauna of Salcombe estuary. This is a survey of the fauna of Salcombe estuary by E.J. Allen. Acording to Salcombe fishermen Palinurus vulgaris (= elephas) is sometimes taken in tuck netting, and occasionally found in holes at the edge of the Zostera bank. The survey report did not provide precise geographical coordinates. Thus locations were estimated. The survey was collated by MarLIN as part of a data collation contract for species on the provisional list of nationally important marine features (Lieberknecht et al. 2004)</dc:description>
