  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This report uses data collected during surveys for North West Water PLC to describe benthic sedimentary communities in Morecambe Bay. Day Grab samples were taken in a grid pattern 800 metres apart. data was analyzed to describe sixteen community types, divided largely into groups of inshore and offshore faunas, with a transitional zone of mixed fauna between. The report contains a detailed species list and distribution according to Day Grab site, and geochemical data from the sediment analysis. It also includes detailed GIS maps showing the distribution of benthic communities around Morecambe bay.</dc:description>
