2012 Marine Conservation Zone Project Stakmap Commercial Fishing individual dataset https://portal.medin.org.uk/portal/start.php?tpc=010_41059a2f9d89a28b6b0f5bf3787e06ff This feature class contains manually digitised GI created during the Stakmap/Fishermap participatory mapping research project. The geometries have been cleansed and non polygonal features have been converted into polygons using a 300m buffer. One condition of the research was that only those interviewees who explicitly gave permission for their data to be shared would have their own mapping represented in the final product shared with third parties. All other individuals have had their data removed from this feature class. Of 984 interviews, 594 gave their permission for their data to be shared. This data describes the activities of fishermen over the period 2005 - 2010 and is focussed upon the activities of boats under 15m in length. Fishing gear are classified using a three tier system of broad gear classification, gear subclass and two parameters that describe gear use in more detail. Target species, vessel details and months of activity are also recorded. 20120331
