The study deals with the energy budget of the oyster (Ostrea edulis L.) population in the estuary of the Beaulieu River between November 1974 and November 1975. The study was carried out by P Rodhouse. There are six beds of oysters in the estuary of the Beaulieu River, of which all beds are sublittoral. A side-scan sonar survey showed that the positions of the oyster beds correspond closely with areas of gravel bottom. This survey was collated by MarLIN as part of a data collation contract for species on the provisional list of nationally important marine features (Lieberknecht et al. 2004). 19791231 19741101
