<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Voluntary logbooks were filled in by oyster fishers as part of the Chichester Harbour Oyster Partnership Initiative (CHOPI) during the fishing season, November to May 2011, to generate long term data of relative oyster density by monitoring catch per unit effort. Record of date, fisher, fishing time (effort), weight of oysters landed, number of dredges, location and CPUE. Data is in an Excel spreadsheet. There was minimal uptake of this project as the fishers had limited time to fill in the logbooks. Similar effort and landings data were collected by SxIFCA fisheries officers during compliance duties and detailed CPUE information was collected at the start of the 2013 season (1st and 2nd November) to support the implementation of an emergency byelaw to protect the remaining stock. From 2014-2017, SxIFCA officers collected detailed catch per unit effort data during the fishing season. 2018 onwards there were too few oysters to allow the fishery to open.</dc:description>
