<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Data results obtained from the calculation of the “Sentinels of the Seabed” indicator. This indicator assesses the environmental status of a habitat using the proportional abundance of the sentinel species across pressure gradients. Sentinel species are taxa characteristic of a habitat in reference condition that are particularly sensitive to the pressure assessed. Species sensitivity to trawling was estimated using the BEnthic Sensitivity Index to Trawling Operations (BESITO). Changes in the proportion of sentinel species across a pressure gradient are used to calculate pressure-state curves for two main purposes: 1) identify tipping points and boundaries for habitat condition and 2) estimate habitat condition</dc:description>
