<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Benthic marine species abundance data from an experiment to compare community composition in areas of high and low scallop dredging effort. The University of Liverpool, at Port Erin Marine Laboratory (PEML), carried out an experiment to compare community composition in areas of high and low scallop dredging effort. Four pairs of sites were sampled on three of the main commercial fishing grounds. Each pair consisted of a 'high' and a 'low' effort area that were geographically close. The sites were to the north-west (Targets), south-west (Chickens A and C) and south-east (Douglas) of the Isle of Man.</dc:description>
