<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">During the pre-lay grapnel run work for the London Array offshore wind farm export cable, six timbers were recovered from the grapnel rig and were reported to the London Array Retained Archaeologists via the Protocol for Archaeological Discoveries (PAD). These timbers were deposited at the Centre for Maritime Archaeology, University of Southampton, for inspection and analysis by specialists. Analysis of three diagnostic timbers revealed the presence of both carvel and clinker planking. Archaeological mitigation was discussed and agreed with English Heritage in order to ensure avoidance and any damage to any further timbers by the installation of the export cables.</dc:description>
