<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Wessex Archaeology was commissioned to undertake a review of the 2012 geophysical data and the Archaeological Exclusion Zones in place for Hastings Shingle Bank Areas 366- 370. This review of eight Exclusion Zones is based on the archaeological assessment of sidescan sonar data and bathymetry data acquired between 1994 and 2012. Eight Exclusion Zones and one further site of interest have been reviewed based on the latest geophysical data acquired in 2012, in comparison with the results from previous geophysical survey from 2001 and 2005 consisting solely of sidescan sonar data. In all eight cases the Exclusion Zones show evidence of their 50m and 100m boundaries having been respected with no evidence of dredging having taken place within them. A qualitative assessment of the three sets of sidescan sonar data suggests no significant change in sediment levels adversely affecting the anomalies being protected within the Exclusion Zones.</dc:description>
