<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Brown crab shell hardness data was collected by researchers in the laboratory following landing of brown crabs of varying hardness from commercial crustacean potting vessels within Wales. Core measurements taken include: sex, chelae morphometrics and dimensions, size of each crab, live weight, post cook weight, brown and white meat yields, durometer scores, fisher classification of hardness, moult stage assessment, whether the animal was landed or discarded, condition index and damage. Crabs were collected in late September and early October 2024. This work was to investigate the relationship between shell hardness and meat yield within brown crab.</dc:description>
