<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Marine Scotland adopted an electronic measuring baord and sampling processing system for fisheries Surveys in August 2013. The system consists of EDC units used to capture measured data from work stations in place on board MRV Scotia, in the fish-house. The system is used to directly measure fish digitally and to record biological sampling.
Subsequently all data from individual EDC work stations are downloaded and combined when a haul is processed. The combined catch, measurement, and biological data is uploaded to the Fishing Survey System database. This record relates to the raw data captured on the individual work stations which are backed up, and stored for traceability.</dc:description>
