<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Titan Environmental Surveys Ltd. was commissioned by Scottish Power Generation Ltd. to conduct a combined baseline benthic survey for these two OWF projects (Walney and West Duddon). The Walney site is approximately 75km squared, which at the time of sampling had a proposed export cable route to Cleveleys, north of Blackpool. The West of Duddon Sands (WoDS) site is adjacent to, and immediately southeast, of the Walney site - with a proposed export cable route into Heysham.

Survey operations were conducted in April/May 2005 and comprised of a programme of grab sampling and beam trawling to provide infaunal, epifaunal and associated sediment samples to characterise the benthos and sediment quality over the area of interest.</dc:description>
