<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">POD (CPOD and TPOD) data from 13 locations within the Moray Firth wind farm development area. Cetacean monitoring is carried out using the C-POD (most recent version of technology) and T-POD. PODs are fully automated, static, passive acoustic monitoring systems that detect porpoises, dolphins and other toothed whales by recognising the trains of echo-location clicks they make to detect their prey, orientate and interact.

In this survey harbour porpoises and common dolphin were detected between the 21/5/2009 and 28/5/2011 by the University of Aberdeen. The data was supplied under contract to the Moray Offshore Renewables Limted (MORL) for the identification of spatial constraints and environmental impact for a proposed 1.4GW windfarm.</dc:description>
