2011, RPS, Lynn Offshore Wind Farm, Cable Remediation Works within Lynn Offshore Wind Farm series https://portal.medin.org.uk/portal/start.php?tpc=015_1438c6de-1f37-4203-9678-64241fcb1c3d A survey was carried out during April 2010 in order to establish the horizontal position and depth of cover of six inter-array cables, installed by MPI Offshore in May and June 2007 using the LBT1, below mean seabed within the Lynn Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) site. A number of sections of the six inter-array cables were found to be out of specification for protection by burial . As such, Centrica Renewable Energy Ltd (CREL) on behalf of GLID Wind Farms TopCo Limited (GLID) proposes to carry out remedial burial works on the six cables deemed to be out of specification within the Lynn OWF site. The Lynn OWF site lies within the boundary of the Inner Dowsing, Race Bank and North Ridge cSAC. Some of the qualifying features for which this cSAC is proposed under the Habitats Directive are: 'sandbanks which are slightly covered by the sea at all times' and 'reefs', in this case biogenic reefs of the ross worm Sabellaria spinulosa (JNCC, 2010). Consultation was therefore undertaken with Natural England who advised on using the most recent dataset showing the locations of Annex I habitats within the area, as provided by Earth Sciences & Surveying (EGS) Ltd (EGS, 2011), in assessing the potential for impacts on the habitats and species within the vicinity of the cable remediation works. This information will enable Natural England to provide advice on any nature conservation issues in relation to the interest features of the cSAC. 2011
