<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Brown and May have been commissioned by Moray Offshore Renewables Ltd (MORL) to perform the baseline commercial fisheries assessment of the modified Offshore Transmission Infrastructure (OfTI) located in the Moray Firth, Northern North Sea. This study describes the commercial fishing activities currently being undertaken in the Moray Firth which have the potential to be impacted by the installation, operation and decommissioning of the MORL modified Offshore Transmission Infrastructure (OfTI). For the purposes of this study, commercial fishing activity is defined as any legal fishing activity undertaken for declared taxable profit. Currently, there is no single data source or recognised model for establishing commercial fishing baselines in discrete sea areas such as export cable routes. The following baseline has therefore been derived using data and information from a number of sources. The principal sources of data and information used for the collation of the commercial fisheries baseline are: ICES; Marine Management Organisation (MMO); Marine Scotland (MS); Marine Scotland Science (MSS); District Fishery Offices; The Scottish Fishermen Federation (SFF); and Fishermen and their representatives.</dc:description>
