<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The geophysical survey of Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Site was undertaken by Osiris Project, commissioned by Senergy Survey & Geoengineering and carried out between 1st April and 21st May 2010. The main objectives were to assess detailed bathymetry, seabed features and shallow soil conditions for input to turbine foundation planning across the site.

The survey was carried out in 2 phases; 1st phase incorporated the acquisition of bathymetry, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler data; 2nd phase incorporating the acquisition of 2D ultra high resolution (UHR) seismic data only.

A Geo-Resources GeoSpark 200 sparker sub-bottom profiling system was used during phase 1 of the survey.

2D UHR seismic data was acquired is a 2.1kJ sparker source, together with a 24 channel streamer.

For 1st phase analogue work, the SV Chartwell vessel was equipped with mulitbeam and single beam echo sounders, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and magnetometer systems. Survey operations were commended on 7th April, 1st phase completed on 5th May 2010. 2nd phase UHR seismic data acquisition commenced on 10th May 2010 and was completed on 21st May 2010.

Seabed levels range from 35.1m below LAT, close to the south western corner of the development area, to 68.1m below LAT at the extreme north west corner. The results of the Side Scan Sonar indicate that, in general, grandular sediments are present at seabed level across most of the survey area. These deposits are interpreted as ranging from shelly medium to coarse grained sands to medium to coarse grained sands and gravels, with occasional cobbles and boulders. A total of 110 targers were picked from the development area, most of which appear to be isolated large boulders (with a maximum dimension generally >1m). A number of targets are associated with the 'Jacky' infrastructure.

The processed sub-bottom profiling data are presented as a series of Isopachyte Charts. The sparker data was mainly utilised for the interpretation of the marine sediments above the seabed multiple, with UHR data mainly below the seabed multiple.

The deliverables of the survey were presented as a series of reports and raw and processed data.</dc:description>
