<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">EcoNorth Ltd was commissioned by NaREC to undertake reptile and butterfly surveys on an area of land along the road between East Sleekburn and Cambois to the north of the Blyth Estuary; adjacent to, and including parts of, the former Blyth coal fired power station site. The survey area follows the route of a cable connection between the landfall of the power cables from the proposed Blyth offshore wind demonstrator site at Cambois beach, and a proposed electricity substation. The survey area also includes the access route to an existing substation. A 30m buffer surrounding the site boundary was also surveyed. The surveys were commissioned following an Extended Phase 1 habitat survey including a desk study which identified the potential presence of both reptiles and notable butterfly species.</dc:description>
