  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Tidal Ventures Ltd (TVL) has commissioned Natural Power to carry out offshore baseline bird and marine mammal surveys in support of an application for a marine licence to the Department of the Environment Northern Ireland (DoE NI) Marine Division to develop a commercial scale tidal energy array off the north coast of County Antrim in Northern Ireland. From July 2013 to September 2014, a 15 month programme of offshore bird and marine mammal baseline surveys, together with an analysis of existing data on bottlenose dolphins, was undertaken. These surveys and analysis will underpin TVL&#x2019;s application to the Department of the Environment Northern Ireland (DoE NI) Marine Division for a marine licence to develop the tidal energy array.</dc:description>
