<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">In February 2013 Environmental Scientifics Group (ESG) were commissioned by DP Marine Energy Ltd to conduct a hydrographic and geophysical survey over the proposed Islay Tidal Energy Site and cable route options. The near shore marine survey was required to provide information on seabed bathymetry and sub-bottom geology as part of the pre-engineering survey. This report describes the fieldwork undertaken and presents the results for the work carried out.

The scope of work for the nearshore operations was specified to include the following aspects:
o Seabed levels
o Bedrock level and thickness of any overlying sediments
o The presence of any large boulders, debris or other obstructions on or in the seabed sediments
o Seabed characterisation
o The presence of any magnetic targets

The survey was carried out in accordance with the contract specification. Survey works were completed between 16 February 2013 and 22 February 2013.</dc:description>
