<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">EGS (International) Ltd was contracted to undertake a geophysical survey of the LINCS OWF and cable route corridor in order to help determine the nature and distribution of broad scale sediment types and identify seabed features. The results of the geophysical survey were used to identify potential Annex I habitats and also to inform the benthic habitat survey sampling locations.

Without the presence of ground truth information preliminary seabed features interpretation was based on the acoustic reflectivity and texture of the side-scan sonar data. Following the results of the benthic habitat survey carried out in September – October 2010 the interpreted seabed features were re-classified to characterise the actual nature of seafloor sediments.</dc:description>
