<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by RWE npower Renewables to carry out an archaeological assessment of geophysical data acquired by Osiris Projects. This assessment included interpretation of sidescan sonar, magnetic and multibeam bathymetry datasets covering the proposed Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm off the north coast of Wales. This report outlines methods used for data acquisition and interpretation in conjunction with the results of the archaeological assessment of the geophysical datasets. The study area covered by this assessment includes the east and west inter-array cable routes and also the export cable route. A total of 109 anomalies were identified during the course of the archaeological assessment, although these tended to be small and of uncertain origin. Limited mitigation in the form of ongoing monitoring during construction is advised rather than exclusion zones.</dc:description>
