<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Geophysical and biological surveys to investigate and monitor the routing and development sites. Phase 1 Geophysical survey (Post-Construction, 2010). Multi-beam swath bathymetry (MBES) and side-scan sonar were used to identify the distribution and extent of broad scale sediment types and detect any seabed features present in the wind farm sites and export cable corridors. Results from the geophysical survey were used to inform the locations of benthic grab and drop down video survey stations across the survey area. Phase 2 Benthic Ecology Survey (Post-Construction, 2010). Report CREL/C/400012 published November 2011. Phase 2 provides ground truthing of the acoustic dataset. The biological component of this survey included both a habitat and benthic sampling programme, including the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of benthic sample data. Field operations were undertaken by EGSi in September and October 2010, assisted by Benthic Solutions Limited, who subsequently carried out the analysis and reporting on behalf of EGSi. Field samples were acquired using a Hamon grab sampler with additional ground truthing using seabed photography and video via a drop down camera technique.</dc:description>
