<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">During the completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment required for this development, a request was made for bat analysis and review, despite the fact that this was not included in the original scoping requirements for the project. Given Narec’s unique role as a national centre for offshore renewables and the limited existing relevant research into the field, a programme of voluntary science investigation and preliminary fieldwork was proposed and agreed with the regulators. This was designed to advance the level of understanding of bats around offshore wind installations, and to review the potential risks and impacts specific to this proposed site.</dc:description>
