<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This project is an addendum to the Walney Offshore Windfarm (WOW) Environmental Statement and describes the results of aerial surveys undertaken between October 2005 and February 2006 by RPS. It summarises the outcomes of the most recent surveys, identifies key species and provides information on their abundance and distribution. These data are compared with previous surveys in terms of the distribution of birds and their abundance to determine whether they are consistent with previous findings. A total of 21 species and species groups were recorded within the NW3 area between October 2005 and February 2006, of which 11 were present within the WF + 2km area and 10 within the WF + 1km area. It is concluded that the assessment contained in the Environmental Statement for Walney Offshore Windfarm is consistent with the findings of these additional surveys.</dc:description>
